Magnetek Taps Ross Smith to Lead its Elevator Products Business Group

Menomonee Falls, WI –September 21, 2007 – Magnetek, Inc. (NYSE: MAG), a leading manufacturer of digital power and motion control systems, today announced that Ross C. Smith has joined the Company as Vice President of its Elevator Products division.
Mr. Smith, 51, has extensive leadership experience in manufacturing and power controls. He served as Vice President of the Equipment Division at Morris Material Handling, Inc., Oak Creek, WI, responsible for company-wide operations, engineering, purchasing and marketing for this industrial crane, hoist and controls manufacturer. Mr. Smith led manufacturing facilities throughout the United States as well as Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore and Australia. He also served as the Company’s Vice President of Strategic Planning, which included leading acquisitions and corporate cost reduction initiatives. Prior to joining Morris Material Handling, Mr. Smith was Vice President of Market Development and Strategic Planning for Siebe Climate Controls, a division of Siebe plc., where he was responsible for strategic planning and market development. Most recently he served as Vice President of Dickman Company, Inc., Milwaukee, WI, a commercial real estate company.
Mr. Smith holds an MBA from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management (1980) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northwestern University (1974).

It operates manufacturing facilities in Pittsburgh, PA and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, as well as Menomonee Falls, WI. On August 22, 2007, the Company reported revenue of $103.8 million for its 2007 fiscal year, ended on July 1, 2007.
