Magnetek Announces Over 500 Quattro® Elevator Drives Installed in Schindler Projects

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. – May 15, 2014 – Magnetek, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of elevator drives, today announced the presentation of its “Quattro® 500 Club” award to Schindler Elevator Corporation. The award signifies that Schindler has installed over 500 of Magnetek’s Quattro energy saving elevator drives in elevator modernization projects around the world.

“The building owners and property managers we work with are looking for energy savings in their buildings. That’s why they have chosen Magnetek’s Quattro elevator drive in over 500 installations,” said Bill Lippman, Vice President of Modernization Sales.

Quattro drives greatly reduce energy consumption, saving as much as 25% over SCR based DC drives and as much as 45% over motor generator sets in gearless DC installations. With unity power factor and low line harmonics, regenerative Quattro elevator drives help maximize building power systems. Many utility companies offer energy saving rebate programs for reduced peak and average power demand and for clean harmonics. Magnetek’s online Energy Savings Calculator allows customers to calculate and document their estimated savings for rebate applications.

“We have been proud to work with our partner, Schindler, to bring the energy saving benefits of Quattro to their customers in over 500 installations,” said Ed Butte, director of Magnetek’s elevator drives business. “Quattro is a highly reliable green elevator drive that also provides passengers with a smooth ride.”
