Quattro® Energy Regenerating Drive Installed Base Reaches 2,000 Units Worldwide as Green Energy Focus Continues to Expand

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. – January 23, 2014 – Magnetek, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of elevator drives, announced today that their Quattro® green energy elevator drive installed base has reached 2,000 units worldwide. Quattro drives are installed in buildings from Sydney to London, New York to Rio de Janeiro, and from Beijing to Toronto.

“We have been proud to work with our partners to bring the energy saving benefits of Quattro to their customers in over 2,000 installations worldwide,” said Ed Butte, director of Magnetek’s elevator drives business. “This milestone is important as it speaks to the commitment of elevator manufacturers and service companies to educate building owners and property managers on how Quattro’s regenerative technology can save energy in their buildings and ultimately save them money.”

Quattro drives greatly reduce energy consumption, saving as much as 25% over SCR based DC drives and as much as 45% over motor generator sets in gearless DC installations. The Company’s Quattro AC saves 42% more energy versus non-regenerative AC drives in gearless AC applications. Many utility companies offer energy saving rebate programs for reduced peak and average power demand and for clean harmonics. Magnetek’s online Energy Savings Calculator allows customers to calculate and document their estimated savings for rebate applications.

“As building owners and property managers continue to look for ways to save energy in their facilities and provide a greater value to their tenants, they have chosen Magnetek’s Quattro elevator drive over 2,000 times for its advanced energy saving properties, in addition to its smooth ride quality. We are pleased to be able to provide customers with a product that truly impacts their bottom line,” said Mr. Butte. “With the proven energy savings our Quattro DC drives have provided, we are seeing growing demand for our Quattro AC products and will soon be introducing a space saving, compact AC Quattro unit to meet the growing need for energy savings in lower capacity buildings.”
